SUSTAINABILITY COURSE IDENTIFICATION FORM
lease submit the information below to include your college's sustainable courses on the FIU GoGreen Website.T
he Office of University Sustainability is collecting data to identify FIU research activities to report in the national STARS report through the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE).
FIU follows a general definition of sustainability that is derived from the 1983 Brundtland Commission of the U.N. definitions of sustainable development, which defines sustainability as:
“Meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
FIU recognizes there are three dimensions sustainability: environmentally sound, socially just, & economically viable. A consideration of the intersection between these dimensions is fundamental to both assessment and promotion of sustainability.
In accordance with the definition provided above, general criteria will be used to identify sustainability-related and focused courses in the FIU curriculum and additional criteria will b
e used to distinguish between a course being “focused” or “related.”
Please fill out the form below for any courses taught between the 2013-2014 and 2015-2016 academic years for your department. You may fill out multiple forms.
